All discipline

All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
Hebrews 12:11 NASB

Lesson – Beginning – Creation

We were created with and for a purpose.  What is my purpose? Once you figure out your purpose then what is your maximum potential of making it happen?  What have you done for other people that show success?  What does God want to do through me?  Why was this ________(ingredient) created? Was my ingredient meant to feed and fuel us?

What are you craving?  Is it attention?  How are you going about that?  Is it sinful?  If it is, what bad came out of it?  Did you think about your self or your worth (value)?  I sure didn’t I have made some pretty bad choices.

We’re all uniquely created!  How would you feel if God did not create you or others?  We all have worth and we are worth it!  Do you have everything you need?  Do you know of others that go without?  Do you have self worth? Is hard work and labor worth it?

To be it you must seek it!

Who needs guidance;  infants, children, teenagers and some parents and for the most part this guidance comes from other generations grandparents.

Through prayer I will ask God to direct me on how to orchestrate and guide you. I want all of us to be there for Gods precious and vulnerable children in a positive and an encouraging way.

As we guide them we also allow them to be what God wants them to be.  There have been many times that I have been used and abused and yet I look back and think that had to take place in order  for me to be where I am now.

At my business I never had any age restrictions because after all why restrict them from expressing themselves?  We are in their lives to provide them with consistent support system and to encourage them.  The educational life skills they will be learning are designed to help these children strengthen their chances of a bright future.

Mentoring children will give each of them the confidence and self-sufficiency for an independent life.

I want these children to see what God can do for them through me and others.

God has provided me the key ingredient to teach the children with.

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.

Teachable Moments

Taking Direction During Teachable Moments

I at a young age would stand near my father watching him work hard laboring; sweating, sifting, lifting, measuring, folding and cutting. I wanted to be near him, so, I would do whatever I could do to be part of the environment.

Later on in life…when I was teachable, I learned from my father by standing with him, which brought me closer to him. Eventually, my father trained me how to roll out Danish (several steps and stages to this), scale it, refrigerate it, roll in the margarine, roll it three fold, refrigerate it, roll it out, fold it three fold, refrigerate it, then roll it out to cut it, twist it, mold it, top it, proof it, bake it for it to become a sweet beautiful item to ingest or digest.

I remember my father showing me how to cup a small piece of dough in the palm of my hand and lightly flour the work bench service to prevent the dough from sticking or slipping from under my palm. He had a knack and a feel for the size you must have in the palm of your hand.  I soon learned that was key to the proofing and baking of the item.

Our workbench was about 20 feet long (he and I would share one side of it working out long pieces of Danish dough.

I lived for and thrived for my father’s attention.  I was his side kick. We did many things together including; riding motorcycles, washing our vehicles, we worked on cars together, we fished together, we water skied almost every weekend light rain or bright sunny days, we went to car races together and we went camping as a family at least one time a year.

Our time was precious versus owning possessions. I do not recall being without any of what people call the latest and the greatest items and to this day I still do not live that way.

Does that mean I had or have everything?
I think we must define what everything is.

What is everything to you?
I think family unity is everything.

Money cannot buy you happiness, it only buys you temporary pleasures and once those are acquired, you crave more which sometimes causes undue debts or habits that will eventually kill you or at least put you in some sort of depression.

Trials In My Life

Well I hope you are ready to hear about all the trials that took place in my life.
I call them trials because, you never know the verdict till you go to trial and for some time after you come out of a trial setting.

When you are placed in the presence of a trial, you are either innocent or guilty of the charges being presented. But, what if you are a victim in the trial setting.

What if you are on the jury, family or a friend or an innocent bystander, or a witness?

What have you experienced through all this uncertainty? My feeling is you are guilty till proven innocent.

I know firsthand if you would have made good choices you wouldn’t be questioning the situation at hand but, being we are human beings living in this sinful world.

We are among-st worldly people.

We could be committing sin and not even think much about it till you walk away or something bad happens from it.

  • Do you have all the facts?
  • Do you have circumstantial evidence?  Is it hearsay?
  • Do you keep your thoughts in your head for a bit, pray about it, then speak up?
  • Do you gossip?
  • Do you put yourself in vulnerable situations?
  • Does everyone have all the facts.

There are people who watch, listen and hear what they are being told but, we honestly may not even know if it’s true or not, till your world is rocked beyond all means by what the jury convicts you of.

Imperfect Changes

Imperfect changes are slow steps to progress wrapped in Grace.

  • It’s okay to have setbacks!
  • It’s okay to have do-overs even if it takes baby steps.
  • Erase it!
  • Stop rehashing it!  – this comes from learned behavior
  • Refresh!
  • How I react is hard for me! But, hard doesn’t mean impossible!

  1. Strategies Discovered
  2. Scriptures Applied
  3. Imperfections understood and grace embraced
  4. Peace found – misplaced flaws – admitted and forgiveness remembered = Progress

Random thoughts are not tied to an emotion we retain the ones we think often that have an emotion tied to the thought pattern the memory trace grows stronger

Romans 12:2

Instead of saying I’m a mess etc.  Let God chisel me like he did with David so I can leave the dark places of being stuck and come into the light of who he designed me to be!

1 Peter 2:4-5,9

Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life.  And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. 1 Peter 3:15.  But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. 1 Peter 3:16 The Christian’s Story is about our relationship with Jesus, His grace and truth in our lives.  Telling your story involves explaining why you have Hope and to live a life of confidence. Our story is meant to be offered as an Unconditional gift for relationships Acts 22: 1 Brothers and esteemed fathers, listen to me as I offer my defense. Acts 22:2 When they heard him speaking in their own language Aramaic, the silence was even greater. Acts 22:3 Then Paul said, I am a Jew, born in Tarsus a city in Cillicia, and I was brought up and educated here in Jerusalem under Gamalioel.  As his student, I was carefully trained in our Jewish laws and customs.  I became very zealous to honor God in everything I did, just like all of you today.  When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them. Genesis 6:1 When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them. Genesis 6:1

  • Are you guilty of stuffing?
  • Don’t be held hostage by old thought patterns
  • 2 Corinthians 10:5
  • I have a choice to have destructive thoughts or constructive thoughts right now!
  • God help me see good even when I don’t feel good!
  • I can face things that are out of my control and not act out of control!  I have to believe it!
  • When I can’t immediately see the good, loosening my grip becomes a matter of trust.  God is there and that He is out to do me good, I can stop freaking out trying to fix everything on my own.  God is in control which means I can face things that are out of my control and not act out of control.

Paul was Gods workmanship.  We are gods workmanship!  God is chiseling us, making us new, releasing us from our hard places those places that make us feel so stink-in defeated so we can do good works, works God has prepared for us which means he knows best how to prepare in us the character we need to fulfill our calling.  Oh that we might hear the purposeful clink of master’s chisel and call it Grace.  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. We are Gods workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10
